An Automatic Power Factor Correction (APFC) panel is an electrical control system designed to automatically maintain the power factor of a connected electrical network close to unity or a predetermined target. The power factor is a measure of how efficiently electrical power is converted into useful work output. A power factor close to unity (1.0) indicates a highly efficient power usage, while a lower power factor (closer to 0) implies a less efficient use of electrical power. High level of reliability and safety in the most critical environments, any sudden change in current and whole equipment and switchgear is thus protected from high inrush current when capacitor is switched on.
